Hi there! I'm Bernard De Luna

I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil (yes, with "s") and I have worked as Head of Product in the past years.

What does a Head of Product do?

Becoming a product visionary...

“People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are.” Steve Jobs

A Head of product is responsible to add value to a company and help leading teams to create remarkable products and services. Work with different teams is so hard and a Head of product has to be prepared to lead people, design nice interfaces and awesome user experiences, and finally, but not less important, solve problems.

Be creative is a must-have skill of any professional, but as Head, you have to explore the market, define your product vision and strategy, study the technology that will be used and help to finding the best talents to compose your dream team. That's why Head of Product is called "mini-CEO", because we have to be prepared to create brillant things with less time and money. If you really want to improve or redesign your product, even that looks like a "dog sucking mango" (in portuguese it's so funny! Believe me!), you better call a Head of Product.

I'm a dreamer, but a dreamer in practice...

To realize my dreams, I studied and improved a lot of important skills to lead products.

Strategic management

I'm always spending time to mentor some startups to create sexy products and design business. I'm mentor at Desafio Brasil, Aceleratech, Startup NAVE, 21212, Lean Startup Machine, Startup Weekend and Startup NEXT.
